Krakow’s digital shield - cooperation between the City of Kraków and AGH University of Science and Technology in the field of cyber-security

A letter of intent regarding cooperation between the City of Krakow and AGH University of Science and Technology was signed at the headquarters of ACC Cyfronet AGH.

The cooperation is to address one of the key areas of modern economy and science - cyber security. Thanks to the combination of technological and scientific potential, the Digital Shield of Krakow is expected to provide important support in rapid response to cyber attacks and with procedures to prevent them.

Under the agreement, the university and the City of Krakow declare the implementation of the following activities:

  • inform one another on cybersecurity-related events and incidents,
  • develop joint threat response procedures,
  • implement rules for monitoring the ICT infrastructure of the Municipality of Krakow, enabling more effective detection and response to cyber threats;
  • develop technologies and rules for the exchange of data for the purpose of joint analyses and research.

One of the technical elements to build the Digital Shield of Krakow will be the Helios supercomputer, the fastest supercomputer in Poland, installed at ACK Cyfronet AGH.
