On November 25, 2025, we gathered during the Information Day of the Gaia Artificial Intelligence Factory in the representative Aula of the main building of the AGH University of Krakow.
The event was organized to provide information about the opportunities that the Gaia AI Factory will offer to scientists, entrepreneurs, and representatives of public administration once its services are launched.
After welcoming the guests by Marek Margyś, Acting Director of ACC Cyfronet AGH, we listened to speeches from invited guests: Michał Goszczyński, Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation and Development at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; Pamela Krzypkowska, Director of the Department of Research and Innovation at the Ministry of Digital Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Eng. Marek Gorgoń, Vice-Rector for Science at the AGH University of Krakow.
Next, Rafał Duczmal, representing NCBiR and EuroHPC JU, briefly presented the jointly developed infrastructure of European Artificial Intelligence Factories. Against this backdrop, the coordinator of the Gaia AI Factory project - Marek Kasztelnik from ACC Cyfronet AGH - gave an overview of the initiative.
The event's further course was structured into three discussion panels featuring invited guests.
The first panel, “Gaia AI as a cooperation ecosystem for the development of Polish innovations”, outlined the “ecosystem” of the AI Factory, consisting of hardware, people (specialists and their competencies), and processes. As a complement to the ecosystem, users were identified, bearing in mind that the infrastructure and its services are being created for them. Additionally, data was recognized as the “lifeblood” of the entire ecosystem.
The second panel, “Gaia AI Factory in practice – applications of artificial intelligence in health, the space sector, and language models”, focused on tasks planned for implementation with tangible benefits for various social groups. It was shown how different competencies developed within partner institutions will intersect and merge within a single project.
The final panel, “AI-scale computing: challenges for supercomputing centers”, centered the discussion on aspects related to the construction and development of supercomputing infrastructures necessary for the advancement of artificial intelligence. Representatives of High-Performance Computing centers discussed both the need to align resources with existing user demands and the challenges associated with commercialising services.
The list of panelists and moderators is available in the event schedule.
The Gaia AI Factory Information Day attracted around 150 participants. We sincerely thank all of you - speakers and attendees - for the time spent in substantive discussion and exchange of views. On behalf of the entire consortium, we encourage you to collaborate with the Gaia AI Factory!
We invite you to watch the recording prepared during the event and photo gallery.
