In the competition for the best diploma thesis "AGH Diamonds", three people who used the computational infrastructure of ACC Cyfronet AGH for their research were among the winners.
The competition, organized by the "Student Scientific Society" Association and AGH, dates back to 1998, and the 25th edition has now been decided. The prizes are awarded in two categories: theoretical works and application works. This year, both of them included people who performed calculations on supercomputers operating in Cyfronet for the purposes of their diploma theses. The winner of the theoretical works category was Ms. Julia Machnio (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering), and the third place was taken by Mr. Miłosz Kożusznik (Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics). In the category of applied works, 2nd place was taken by Mr. Szymon Mazurek (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering).
A full list of award winners, along with the titles and supervisors of the awarded works, and the profiles of the winners of the main prizes can be found in the announcement on the AGH website.
