ISC High Performance (The Event for High Performance Computing, Machine Learning, Data Analytics & Quantum Computing) is one of the most important events for the community of suppliers and users of solutions related to large-scale computing.
The event took place on 12-16.05.2024 and traditionally consisted of a conference covering practically all areas related to the use of supercomputers, and an industry fair enabling direct presentations of equipment, projects and solutions.
Cyfronet representatives participated in the conference, familiarizing themselves with the latest technologies and examples of their application. During the conference, Marek Magryś, Cyfronet's deputy director for High-Performance Computers, received a certificate for the Helios supercomputer gaining 3rd place on the prestigious Gren500 list of the most energy-efficient supercomputers in the world. Additionally, the TOP500 list of the world's fastest supercomputers was announced, with Cyfronet machines taking 4 places.
At the same time, Cyfronet appeared at ISC as an exhibitor for the fourth time, this time under the slogan "Access the future". Cyfronet's participation in ISC was, among others, related to promotional activities as part of the project: "National EuroHPC Competence Centers, phase 2". The information and promotional stand of ACC Cyfronet AGH was one of the few Polish accents during the fair. The exhibitors included both companies - technology giants such as Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Intel, and NVIDIA, as well as leading initiatives and supercomputing centers, including EuroHPC JU, LUMI, Jülich Supercomputing Center. In total, the fair included 160 exhibitors from 30 countries.
Cyfronet's main activities during ISC included:
- maintaining and developing relationships with existing partners
- establishing new contacts with potential hardware and software suppliers
- assessing new technological solutions that can be implemented within the managed infrastructure.
This year's ISC High Performance attracted over 3400 participants from around the world.
