This year's edition of ISC High Performance in Hamburg once again gathered global leaders, experts, scientists, and business representatives associated with high-performance computing (HPC), artificial intelligence, and quantum technologies. The conference program focused on the most important challenges and development directions of the sector, ranging from system architecture and software for HPC, through AI and data analysis, to quantum technologies and the development of the international HPC community.
ACC Cyfronet AGH participated in the event as one of the recognized European centers developing infrastructure and services for advanced computing. Our large representation, led by Marek Magrys, Director of ACC Cyfronet AGH, actively took part in meetings, discussions, and accompanying events, presenting competencies and experience built over years of implementing national and international projects. At the Cyfronet booth in the exhibition area, we also promoted initiatives carried out by Cyfronet, with the Gaia AI Factory at the forefront.
For years, ISC has remained one of the most important places for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the supercomputer world. It is where technology creators, operators of the largest computing centers, industry representatives, and scientists meet to jointly determine the development directions of European and global HPC.
As emphasized by Klemens Noga, HPC Software Specialist and Head of Training at ACC Cyfronet AGH:As always, the most important thing is the people creating this environment. The ISC conference in Hamburg is annually one of the places where I can meet old collaborators, colleagues, and friends, as well as get to know new ones. Thanks to the wonderful atmosphere, we can exchange experiences and jointly plan further steps to build an ever-better community related to smaller and larger computers and computing solutions.
This year's ISC was also an excellent opportunity to observe the latest technological trends and talk to suppliers of solutions that will shape the future of European computing infrastructure. Birds of a Feather sessions played a particularly important role, enabling direct exchange of experiences around specific technical issues, as did the developing formula of Community Stage Meetups, focused on active dialogue and participant engagement.
The significance of these meetings is also highlighted by Marta Maj, Advanced Computing Business Lead at ACC Cyfronet AGH:ISC is a great opportunity every year to meet with industry representatives, discuss ongoing projects and planned initiatives, and learn about new technologies that will influence the development of advanced computing services in the coming years. It is also a chance to participate in discussions with the HPC community during Birds of a Feather sessions and build relationships that often become the beginning of new international collaborations.
For Cyfronet, presence at ISC is not just participation in one of the most important industry conferences in the world. It is also confirmation of our role as an organization co-creating the European advanced computing ecosystem. As an operator of strategic computing infrastructure and a partner in numerous European initiatives, we actively participate in the development of technologies, services, and competencies that support science, public administration, and innovative business.
Our booth was the site of numerous meetings with representatives of research institutions, technology partners, and organizations involved in the development of HPC, AI, and quantum technologies. It was an excellent opportunity to present Cyfronet's potential, our projects, and our contribution to building modern European digital infrastructure.
This year's ISC clearly showed that the boundaries between HPC, AI, and quantum technologies are increasingly blurring. The future will belong to integrated ecosystems combining advanced computing infrastructure, data, and intelligent analytical tools. For Cyfronet, this confirms the validity of the direction we are consistently developing - building competencies and services supporting both the scientific world and the public and business sectors. Discussions held during the conference showed that the European HPC community is increasingly focusing on cooperation beyond borders and sectors, and Cyfronet is a natural partner in these efforts, actively participating in shaping Europe's digital future.
We are returning from Hamburg with new contacts, inspirations, and ideas, but above all with the conviction that Cyfronet not only participates in the transformation of the world of advanced computing but actively co-creates it. Thanks to the engagement of our experts, international cooperation, and consistent investment in technology development, we are strengthening Poland's position on the map of European HPC and jointly building the future of science and innovation.
