In his article, Piotr Wolniewicz - the chief editor of AIPORT.pl - provides a comprehensive overview of the Polish artificial intelligence ecosystem, focusing primarily on the people behind the country’s most important AI projects, companies, and initiatives.
Among other topics, the analysis presents the story of Bielik.AI and emphasizes the role of Cyfronet, which provided the project’s creators with access to the computing power of its supercomputers. This support enabled Bielik to grow from a community-driven project into an initiative with international reach. As a result, Bielik achieved strong performance in European benchmarks, surpassed one million downloads, and found applications in both business and public administration.
Another initiative discussed in the article is PLLuM, a Polish language model developed by the PLLuM and HIVE AI scientific consortia. In 2025, Cyfronet joined the project, strengthening its computational and infrastructure capabilities. The outcomes of this work include the deployment of the AI model in the mObywatel application (Citizen Assistant) and the development of secure AI solutions for public administration.
The article also refers to the new Gaia AI Factory project, which is coordinated by Cyfronet.
