The authors of the article, Jan Króliński and Dr. Nicole Lemke, use Poland as a case study to examine how public computing infrastructure can support the growth of AI startups in Europe. The report highlights Poland’s strategic role in building the European AI ecosystem, pointing in particular to ACC Cyfronet AGH as the host of the Gaia AI Factory and an experienced operator of high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure. The article also emphasizes the importance of protecting data and intellectual property, as well as ensuring a high level of security based on the isolation of computing resources and data.
