- Duration:
- 01.05.2025-30.04.2032
- Aim:
- LUMI-IQ is a European computing platform - developed under the EuroHPC initiative - that combines artificial intelligence with quantum computing. The project's goal is to build a world-class HPC+AI+QC infrastructure accessible to the entire European research and industrial community for the deployment and testing of quantum artificial intelligence methods. The platform envisages the installation of several generations of quantum computers based on European technology. Half of the available resources will be allocated to all EuroHPC users, while the remaining 50% will be reserved for the consortium countries: Finland, the Czech Republic, Norway, and Poland. The project's key objectives are to accelerate Europe's progress in the field of quantum artificial intelligence, support industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and telecommunications through quantum computing, and create a software ecosystem that enables the use of hybrid quantum-classical AI algorithms. The project places a strong emphasis on training, hackathons, and user support in order to minimize barriers to entry and facilitate participation for companies and researchers with no prior experience in quantum computing.
- ACC Cyfronet AGH:
- Cyfronet's role in the project is to collaborate with the project partners in deploying the complete software stack for quantum artificial intelligence, developing representative use cases, and integrating simplified user interfaces. The project's activities will also include the operational provision of quantum computing resources for quantum AI workloads and applications.
