EUROQHPC-I

The main objectives of the project are to integrate and provide operational access to quantum computing resources within a shared service environment for users from the consortium’s partner countries. The target environment will combine quantum resources with classical HPC (High-Performance Computing) infrastructure, enabling computations to be performed using a hybrid approach. The project also includes the development of software tools, demonstration applications, and a technical support system to facilitate the practical adoption of hybrid computing in scientific research and development activities. Hybrid computing is currently the most effective way of utilizing quantum computers, and the project actively supports its standardization and wider adoption within the European research ecosystem.

Cyfronet is responsible for integrating the Helios supercomputer with the VLQ quantum computer acquired under the LUMI-Q project. This integration will enable users in Poland to submit jobs that utilize both classical computing resources and quantum computing capabilities. The integration will be implemented using the tools and technologies of the PLGrid Portal.
