EUreka3D, or European Cultural Heritage 3D, implemented the digital transformation of the cultural heritage sector by providing services compatible with the Europeana platform, supported by modern computing infrastructure. The goal was to create a high-quality 3D digitization service for the European Heritage Center (EOSC) and acquire new 2D and 3D content - from object selection to online publication. As part of the project, 13 institutions from across Europe digitized and made available over 5,000 objects on the Europeana platform.
ACC Cyfronet AGH was responsible for developing innovative solutions for managing 2D and 3D data and processing input data for digitization, leveraging cloud computing infrastructure and HPC computing environments.
The project was funded by the Digital Europe program.
In this video, Łukasz Opioła from ACC Cyfronet AGH explains the contribution of the EUreka3D DataHub infrastructure, the Europeana platform, and the OneData system to the EUreka3D project and the role Cyfronet played in the project.
