# Making Public Compute Work for Applied AI Startups: A Deep Dive Into Poland's AI Factory Ecosystem

***Interface* published an article on European AI Factories featuring extensive comments from Marek Kasztelnik, Coordinator of the Gaia AI Factory project led by Cyfronet.**

The authors of the article, Jan Króliński and Dr. Nicole Lemke, use Poland as a case study to examine how public computing infrastructure can support the growth of AI startups in Europe. The report highlights Poland’s strategic role in building the European AI ecosystem, pointing in particular to ACC Cyfronet AGH as the host of the Gaia AI Factory and an experienced operator of high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure.
