Review of DataGrid Progress and Plans for the EGEE Project
Abstract:
The EU DataGrid project has recently released its Version 2.0 of the
middleware produced and demonstrated increased functionality and
performance. The project has greatly benefited of the collaboration with
related projects such as Crossgrid and DataTAG and extensive tests from
the major applications.
The partners from DataGrid and many other EU projects and national Grid
activities have recently started negotiating with the EU a new and much
larger Grid project, very much oriented towards production quality
services.
This project is called EGEE, standing for Enabling Grids for E-science
in Europe.
This talk will review the progress with the EU DataGrid project and the
current status of the EGEE project.
